Michael Bauer from the San Francisco Chronicle states that while consumption of French Fries are down, burger consumption is up. See the article. Does that mean cole slaw is on the rise?
Mastering the Hamburger. That is my quest. What does it take to make the best burger? I will find out. I rate burgers from 1 (inedible) to 5 (sublime) spatulas. Gourmet or grease bomb? Don't care. It just has to taste good. I will also rate fries, onion rings and milk shakes where available. Since I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, I list the Top Bay Area burgers first.

I grew up in Indiana on a farm that raised beef. A husband and father, I travel to Mexico with my wife and daughter to build houses for the poor and sponsor children who cannot afford education.
